Dixie Marvell Farrah Butler

Dixie Marvell Farrah Butler of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Wednesday morning, October 26, 2016, in the AllianceHealth-Ponca City at the age of 95 years.
Dixie Marvell Farrah Butler was born on November 2, 1920, in Gage, Oklahoma, to Joseph William and Mary Elizabeth (Garnett) Arthurs. At the age of four she moved with her family to Braman, Oklahoma, where she grew up and attended Braman Public Schools. Following her education she married Hubert Owen Farrah on November 2, 1939, in Newkirk, Oklahoma, and they settled in Braman where she served her family as a homemaker. They later moved to various communities where his job in oilfield construction took them. In 1948 they settled on a farm east of Braman until 1991 when they moved to Blackwell to make their home. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1993, and she remained in Blackwell. On April 3, 1997, she married Eugene Butler in Miami, Oklahoma, and they made Blackwell their home. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell, the Variety Fun Card Club and was a twenty-six year member of the Rise’n Shine Ladies Home Extension. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, camping, cheering the Oklahoma City Thunder to victories and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Sonja Bolzer and husband Larry of Rollins, Wyoming, Brenda Hudson and husband Larry of Blackwell, and Connie Bennett and husband Johnny of Ponca City; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and twelve great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Ecil Cullison, Lillie Boggs, Ethel Spencer, Thelma Scott and Willa Arthurs; a grandson, Kent Starnes; a great grandson, Hudson Henrichs; and a great great granddaughter, Kayleigh.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29th in the First United Methodist Church in Braman with Pastor Kent Reubell officiating. Burial will follow in the Braman Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Jake Pelton, Zack Pelton, Trevor Scott, Dawson Henrichs, Blade Rowe and Royce Rowe. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Tanner Scott and Jaxon Siler.
A memorial has been established in her honor with Braman Methodist Church in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
