Obituary for Dessie Hobbs

Dessie Nadine Farnam-Hobbs, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, for 74 years, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at The Renaissance Assisted Living Center. She was 92.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roberta Shaffer, officiating. Burial will then follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Nadine was born on December 20, 1921 to Ray Huntley and Ellen (McDonald) Huntley on the farm near Medford, OK, in Grant County. She was raised near Caldwell, Kansas. She was married to Robert Maxey Farnam in 1940 until he passed in 1996. She remarried in 1997 to James S Hobbs until his death in 2003. She retired as Tax Clerk from Continental Oil Company and was involved in the Conestoga Campers, played piano for her Sunday School at the First Christian Church, loved to do crafts and traveled in the US and abroad.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert Gene Farnam of Katy, Texas and Ray Max Farnam of Upper Malboro, Maryland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The oldest of four siblings, she was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Nolan and John Huntley and her sister, Esther Knox.
