Derek Jeffrey Prusa, born on March 26, 1987, passed away on December 3, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and laughter. Known for his friendly nature, Derek never met a stranger and was always ready to engage in conversation, bringing joy to those around him.

Derek is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Prusa. He is survived by his father, Claude Prusa, and his Immediate family, including sister Shelly Brown and husband Darryl of Garber, Christopher Prusa and wife Crystal of Perry, Branden Prusa and wife Sarah of Red Rock, and Lori Miller and husband Dalton of Perry. Nieces and nephews, Colton Neely, Brianna Neely, Ryan Neely, Jaxon Neely, Kaylee Jane Prusa, Kirstin Prusa, Miley Ann Prusa, Bentley Prusa, Kayden Prusa, Kerri Prusa, Hailey Miller, Joshua Miller, and Alyssa Miller. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his infectious humor and the light he brought into their lives.

A lover of movies and television, Derek had a particular fondness for horror and comedy genres. His passion for entertainment matched only by his ability to make others laugh, a gift he shared generously with everyone he met. Derek made many friends along the way as he attended Frontier Public Schools where he graduated in 2006.

In honor of Derek’s memory, donations can be made to the Rock Community Center of Red Rock, Oklahoma, a place that reflects his spirit of community and connection.

Derek’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and humor. His ability to connect with people and his unwavering positivity will be deeply missed by all who knew him. As we remember Derek, let us celebrate the joy he brought into our lives and strive to carry forward his legacy of laughter and love.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7th in the Red Rock Cemetery in Red Rock, Oklahoma, with Rev. JImmy Kenner of Otoe Baptist Church officiating.
