David L. Harris

December 7, 1944 – November 17, 2017

David Leon Harris, age 72, of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away November 17, 2017 in Ponca City.

A graveside ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Park in Ponca City. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 1-8 p.m. at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

David was born to Robert Allen and Thelma Geraldine Bell in 1944 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He was adopted by Stanley J. and Ardith Elizabeth Harris of Ponca City. He was a proud retired Navy Chief. He enjoyed metal detecting, tinkering with old cars, and indulging his grandchildren.

He is survived by his devoted, loving wife Teresa Mae, his loving children, Denise McInnish and husband Allen of Manchester, CT, Cathy Harris, Heather Smith of Salt Lake City, UT, and Michael Smith of Ponca City, OK, his treasured grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Bryant and David Andrew Bryant of Oak Ridge, TN, his sister, Patricia Williams of Osawatomie, KS, the apple of his eye, his great-granddaughter Catherine Ann, and his beloved dog, Jerry Lee.

David was preceded in death by all of his parents and his daughter, Cathy.
