Darion Alexander Terrell
January 6, 1998 – June 23, 2016
Darion Alexander Hawk Terrell was blessed to B. Gail Seymour and Mark A. Terrell on Jan. 6, 1998, in Blackwell, Okla. He lived, laughed, loved and was a lifelong resident to Second Street in Ponca City. His light was suddenly extinguished on June 23, 2016 in Ponca City, Okla., at his home. He was 18 years young.
He attended Liberty Elementary School and was a recent 2016 graduate of Ponca City High School. He attended Pioneer Technology Center and worked at Pizza Hut for a short duration before moving on and working with a mobile company, Patriot Metal Worx, centered in Mustang, Okla.
He is survived by his mother and father, B. Gail Seymour and Mark Allen Terrell, Ponca City; his three sisters, Jamee Evans, Ponca City, Brandie ”Skye” Byrd and soon-to-be husband Dusty Rennie, Berthoud, Colo., and Brooklyn Lanoy, Oklahoma City and his son, Spec Tacular Terrell, Ponca City; maternal grandfather Donald ”Pop” Seymour, Oklahoma City; two nephews, Aiden Evans and Isaiah Evans, one niece, Aubrianna Evans, all from Ponca City, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by maternal grandmother Peggy Jean Costello, Ponca City, maternal grandfather Bill Seymour, Tonkawa; cousin and friend Scott E. Seymour, Ponca City; Cousin Jaylah Nichole Costello; Fraternal grandfather Marvin Terrell, Midwest City; and godmother Amyi Sue Pameticky, Ponca City.
Other honorary people that contributed to Darion’s youth and life were Godsisters Kelsey and Kara Tidwell, and Godbrother Blake Tidwell; Godmother Brandy D. Panther, Godmother Tanya Hilbert, Godmother Julia Sigler-Kakook; Godfather Jeff Daily, Godfather Darrell Thomas, Godfather Steven Pike, Godfather Chris Hand; Brother-in-law Brock Evans, and cousin and friend Trever Schrader.
From the moment he was born he lit up the room with his smile, he was considered ”the boy,” which seemed appropriate because he was the youngest of three older sisters. He very soon became everyone’s ”boy” and so the name stuck. To his parents and close family he is and always will be ”Buddy Bear.”
He was a bright shelter in the lives of everyone that knew him even slightly or through others. He loved hard, laughed harder and worked the hardest, living a bright, enthusiastic, and magnetic life.
Darion loved paintball to the point of making a business out of it with his dad and godfather Steven, He also enjoyed other sports such as disk golf at the local park. He loved spending time with friends and giving hugs so hard you felt them in your heart (and your ribs.) He loved driving fast, four-wheeling, fishing, shooting, and anything else outdoors. He had a strong commitment to the values of Batman and the adventurous soul of Star Wars and his love of Archer reflected his outstanding no-fear personality.
Darion was a leader among his friends and community. He had the type of personality you couldn’t help but loving and following even if it was along the farthest dirt road which you would need to bring a wrench for because you would more than likely get stuck on the many random and spontaneous adventures Darion got caught up in.
Darion had unwrenching loyalty to his friends and family and an unending love that was always growing through the many people he knew. He had a sense of humor that rippled through lives, hearts and homes. His kindness was unlimited even to strangers. If you were a stranger it wasn’t for long. Darion had strong opinions, fierce support for his country, his home and his friends. The most important person in his life was his mama; their bond was beyond words and went as far as heaven could reach.
Services will be held at Ponca City Assembly Church at 2313 East Prospect on Friday, July 1, at 11 a.m. There will be a dinner for the family following. Arrangements are set up through Grace Memorial Funeral Home.
Contributions in memory of Darion may be made to the gofundme or donated directly to the parents, Gail and Mark, at 1005 N. 2nd Street, Ponca City, OK 74601.
We love you with every breath for you are also the whisper in the song that sings in our dreams. You were taken too soon! We will always look towards the sun for ”our son.”
