Curtis Lieb former Ponca City resident passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at his home in Tulsa with his family by his side. He was 90 years of age. Curtis was born October 19, 1928 in Ponca City, OK to Henry and Josephine No Ear Lieb.
Traditional Noon feast and give away will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 in the Otoe Missouria tribal complex in Red Rock, OK burial will follow in the Family burial grounds in the White Eagle community. Casket bearers will be Gilbert Lieb Jr., Snap Lieb, Brandon Lieb, Garland Arkeketa, Spencer Arkeketa, Bennett Arkeketa. Honorary bearers will be; Stewart Lieb, Scott Lieb, John Warrior, Danny Lieb and Vincent Lieb.
Curtis grew up in Ponca City and he attended Chillocco Indian School where he learned the trade of Line Type operation. He was a line type operator for the Tulsa World for over 35 years. Curtis married the love of his life Charlene M. Arkeketa on December 10, 1954 and they made their first home in Ponca City then later moving to Tulsa. He enjoyed spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. He also enjoyed attending and participating in Traditional Dances, teaching the Ponca language, reading, playing golf and he was known for telling good stories from time to time.
Survivor include: wife; Charlene of the Home, 2 sons: Stewart Lieb and Scott Lieb both of Tulsa, OK 2 brothers: Henry Lieb and Andrew Lieb both of Ponca City OK and numerous Grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and Nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
