Craig Paige

Harvey Craig Paige of Blackwell, Oklahoma died Oct 5, 2017, at his residence at the age of 65 years.

Harvey Craig Paige was born on March 5, 1952, in Blackwell Oklahoma, to Harvey Calvin and Velma June (Williamson) Paige. He attended Nardin Elementary School and graduated from Blackwell High School, with the class of 1970. Craig attended college at Northern Oklahma College in Tonkawa, Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Craig married the love of his life Paula Coyle on August 7, 1976. Craig and Paula had three children Chris, Cameron and Chance.

Craig’s early years were consumed with sports and growing up on a farm northwest of Blackwell. He loved sports, playing football, baseball and track. Craig, along with his family, grew wheat and alfalfa as well as running a custom haying service. Many hours were spent in surrounding neighbor’s fields and barns cutting, baling, and hauling hay.

Craig, and his family, moved to Fort Towson, Oklahoma in the late 1980’s where he began working for Weyerhaeuser Corporation in tree farming. The family moved to Texarkana, Arkansas, when he was transferred to a Weyerhaeuser facility in Magnolia, Arkansas, working there until his retirement in 2015. He enjoyed watching his children in different sporting and school events as they grew up. Craig always had a passion for growing things, digging in the dirt, an honest day’s work, and traveling to different places to buy, sell and trade produce. Craig, also, was an avid collector and seller of many different items. He had a unique collection of past treasures, including baseball cards, furniture, memorabilia, glassware and much, much more. He had several different venues across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Kansas, where he traveled on a monthly basis to buy and sell antiques. Craig loved doing exactly what he wanted to do.

Craig is survived by his three children; son, Harvey Christopher Paige and wife Hailey of Alexandria, Louisiana, daughter, Cameron Paige Young and husband Mike of Texarkana, Texas, and son, Chance Paige and wife Jessica of Texarkana, Arkansas; mother, Velma Paige of Blackwell; two brothers, Randy Paige and wife Judy of Nardin and Derry Paige and wife Michaeleen of Blackwell; grandsons, Harvey Christian and Devlin Paige of Alexandria, Louisiana; and granddaughter, Maddie Paige of Texarkana, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Paige; father, Harvey Paige; and his grandparents, Henry and Maybelle Paige, and Ralph and Ursie Williamson.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Friday, October 13th, at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Nardin, Oklahoma with James W. Roberts officiating.

A memorial has been established in his honor with the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
