Coy Caudell

August 14, 1940 – October 18, 2024

Coy Alton Caudell, 84, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on October 18th, 2024, at Integris Hospital, in Ponca City. Viewing will be held between 11:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Trout Funeral Home. A Graveside Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Longwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 4601.

Coy was born August 14th, 1940, in Shamrock, Texas, to Aubrey & Lily Caudell. On January 28th, 1972, he married Serena Matkin-Gemmill, in Beaver, Oklahoma, at the First Baptist Church. He worked for Lowel Bushart, building homes with his brother-in-law, Rod. They worked well together and did fabulous work. He then became an over the road truck driver off & on for about 45 years hauling for Yellow Freight, Double L Transport, Martin, & CFI. The last several years of driving, he started Caudell Trucking, hauling anything & everything across country. He was always punctual getting from place to place with Serena as his co-pilot. He would always want to meet at the Truck Stop in cities where he had family to meet, eat, and catch up. He always had funny stories to tell his family about his journeys. He and Serena were best friends and were inseparable. They moved to Ponca City in December of 2022 and spent that time working on home improvements. He always had a way of making something out of nothing. He’d figure it out one way or another.

Coy never met a stranger and was always happy to spend time with his loved ones.

Preceding him in his passing were: his brother, Wayne Caudell, sister, Geraldine Haston, sister, Lucille Hagerman, brother, George Caudell, sister Linda Caudell, and son, Todd Caudell. Survivors include: his wife, Serena; son, Ty (Amy) Caudell of Edmond, OK, Holli (Clint) Carter of Wichita, KS, Tammy Chase, Pam Roberts; grandchildren, Josh Caudell, Madison Hallbauer, Jaelyn Sramek, Caley Caudell, Shanna Raper, Kirby Pierce, Jared and Natalie; lots of great- grandchildren, and numerous extended family & friends.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Integris Hospital’s doctors & nursing staff, whom cared for him. Thank you for everything you did for our sweet Coy. A lunch will be served at Hartford Church of Christ Fellowship Hall at 12:oo PM, following the graveside services.

In leui of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hartford Church of Christ, 1905 Joe Street, Ponca City, Oklahoma, 74601.
