Cloma Angeline (Martin) Goldman, 83, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on December 12, 2021. No viewing is planned. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel, with Kyle McGenety officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City. Cloma was born on August 23rd, 1938, in Okemah, OK, to Lee Hanford and Lillie Matilda (McElhannon) Martin. Her dad ran the Triple Heart Dairy in Okemah and that is where she lived the first five years of her life, then her family moved to Ponca City.
Cloma attended Ponca City Schools, Jefferson, McKinley, East Jr. High and graduated from Ponca City High School with the class of 1956. She gradated from Draughns School of Business in 1966. She meet her tall, dark and handsome prince charming, Donald Richard Goldman in Mrs. Greer’s 7th grade math class. They were married five years later, after graduation. They had been married 58 years when Donald was killed in a motorcycle accident, June 11th, 2014. Cloma’s life was ripped in half, but because she knew Donald was a Christian and loved the Lord, she could go on, knowing that her love for God and his for her would carry her through until resurrection day.

When Cloma was 12 years old, she made her profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at the First Baptist Church. The little church she grew up attending, Ranch Drive Baptist Church had no baptistery at the time. in 1964, she became a member of First Baptist Church, and the Disciples Sunday School Class. She was also in the DAR and the First Families of the Twin Territories. Cloma was a home room mother, Blue Bird leader, Campfire Girls leader, Sunday school teacher, baby sitter and was a stay-at-home mom who groomed dogs in her home for 30 years. She also worked as a precinct official for 30 years.

Cloma enjoyed poetry, sewing, cooking and genealogy. Her maternal grandfather, John P. McElhannon, would point to a picture hanging on his wall and say, “This is your great-great-great grandpa, John McElhannon, who was born in Londonderry, Ireland.” This started a quest for genealogy early in her life. She was Irish and proud of it.

Donald and Cloma were the parents of three daughters, Dewana Dawn Pruitt, who was married to Terry Daniel Pruitt. Dawn Pruitt was born in 1957 and died in 2018, Fransesca Geraldine Manley who is married to Dennis Wayne Manley and was born in 1961, Rebecca Gay Walker, who was married to Randy Walker and was born in 1962 and died in 2007. Cloma had four grandchildren, Korey Pruitt, married to Casey, Lori Pruitt, married to Steven Miner, Lindsey Green and Whitney Manley; five great-grandchildren, Brooke Pruitt, who was Cloma’s pride and joy, Maddyson Miner, Brennen Green, Hannah Green and Lexi Green; sister, Drenda Robinson; nieces and nephews, Angela Robinson, Debra Wheeler and her husband, Bobby, Teresa Kukuk and her husband, Ray, Bambi Jenkins and her husband Jerold, Aaron Robinson and wife, Kim, Deric Goldman and his wife, Tina, Andrea Evans and her husband, Dave. Cloma adored her family.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, Lee Martin (2000) and Lillie McElhannon Martin (2004) and special friend, Lois Nell Whitfield (2005).

Pallbearers will be Deric Goldman, Ray Kukuk Jerold Jenkins, Aaron Robinson, Royce Brown and Jeff O’Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will the members of the Disciples Class, First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made to the Rebecca Goldman Walker Memorial Scholarship Fund, Northern Oklahoma College Foundation, 1220 E. Grand Ave, Tonkawa, OK 74653.
