Obituary for Cleo John Reynolds

Cleo John Reynolds Jr., resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015, in Ponca City. He was 85.
John was born on March 3, 1929 to Cleo John Reynolds Sr. and Madaline Bisby in Wichita, Kansas. He was raised in Haven, Kansas where he helped his dad work at the service station. John graduated from Haven High School in 1947. He was married to Doris Alene Powell on January 25, 1948 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
John liked spending time working in the yard and bowling. John loved working with wood. He helped his dad build their house while in high school. Through the years he remodeled rooms, built furniture and made lots of wooden bowls. John dearly loved animals. On his three acres he raised peacocks, pheasants and other wild birds. He regularly fed the wild ducks that visted his pond. Madison was the last dog he owned and a wonderful companion. Her favorite spot was on his lap.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by wife of 67 years, Doris Alene Reynolds; son, Greg and Reiko Reynolds of Long Beach, California; daughter, Jan Reynolds of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter, Julie and Steve Denning of Phoenix, Arizona ; grandchildren, Asja DiMuria of Phoenix, Arizona, Jonathan Denning of Manhattan, Kansas; Ana and Jeff Beets of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and great grand daugher Alivia Beets.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at the Church of Christ Hartford Avenue with Don Huddleston officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
