Clement Warrior
(June 13, 1950 – February 26, 2017)
Clement Lyle Warrior “Chigger”, age 66, resident of Tonkawa passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa.
A traditional feast followed by a funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday March 2, 2017 at the Tonkawa Tribal Gymnasium with Pastor Jim White officiating. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest at the Ponca Indian Cemetery in Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa. Casket bearers will be Dwayne Warrior, Brandon Warrior, Charles Warrior, James C. Warrior, Fred Warrior, Spencer Arkeketa, Jr., Eddy Clark and Ean Jacob DeLodge.
Clement was born on June 13, 1950 to Lamont Warrior and Mildred Horse Chief Eagle Warrior in Pawnee, OK. He was raised in the north central Oklahoma region, graduating high school from Chilocco in 1970. While in high School, he was an avid sports player, involved in cross country, track, football, and basketball. He carried that forward through life as a big fan of OU football, the Dallas Cowboys, and OKC Thunder. Creativity was a strong element to Chigger’s character, he enjoyed drawing Native American imagery, as well as woodworking. Sometimes, he would just go out on a drive on the back roads to find some peace and time alone. Chigger worked in Maintenance for the Tonkawa Tribe since the late 1970’s.
Surviving family members include his children: Eddy and Cylenia Clark of Marland, Evona Warrior of Ponca City, Janice Warrior and husband Jesse Jimenez of Tonkawa, Shaelynn Warrior of Ponca City, Sun Dance Warrior of Tonkawa, and Nicoma Faith Warrior of Tonkawa, brothers: Larry Warrior of Medford, OK, Gordon Warrior and wife Lois of Tonkawa, Jerome Warrior and companion Marie Jenkins of Ponca City, and sister Cheryl Arkeketa and husband Spencer of Ponca City; grandchildren: Da-Dabe-We, Lorelei, Daniel Jr., Nelcine, Forever, Promise, Sydney, Tavia, Elise, Ilia, Ivy, Elijah, Margaret, Ean, Baptiste, Jr., Daniel, Keifer, Demetrius, Aniyah; great grandchildren: Cylenia, Tavianna, Cameron, Kyleigh, Uriah, Arias, Asiah, and Avianna, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Marcus Warrior, brothers: Ponca Warrior, Kermit Warrior, James Warrior, and grandchild Kennedy Rhea.
