Clara Marie Stafford of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday afternoon, March 3, 2017, in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Oklahoma City, at the age of 82 years.
Clara Marie Stafford was born on October 8, 1934, in Cedar City, Utah, to Chester H. and Rosalie (Anzalone) Peterson. She moved to Blackwell in 1946. She attended the Blackwell Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1952. After graduating L.P.N. school, she worked at the Blackwell Regional Hospital until 1974. She married Donald Richard Stafford on August 3, 1973, in Miami, Oklahoma. She worked part-time at the Becker Clinic and Osler Clinic, later retiring from Osler clinic in 1999 as charge nurse. She worked at the blood mobile with the American Red Cross. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, baking, listening to books on tape and country music. She loved taking care of her dog Yadi.
She is survived by her husband Don Stafford of Blackwell; three daughters, Lonette Stone and husband James of Ponca City, Deandrea Ross of Blackwell and Dawn Elynn Swinford and husband Wayland of Morrison; one son, Drew Norlin and wife Cindy of Norman; one sister, Antoinette “Cookie” Stone of Blackwell; 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bernice Gessell and Virgnia Hampton; and one stepdaughter, Jeanne Young.
Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Father Ben Lwin officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackwell Cemetery, Blackwell, Oklahoma.
Prayer services are scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2017, in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackwell, Oklahoma. Following the prayer service, her family will be receiving guests at the Econolodge, Blackwell, Oklahoma.
Casketbearers will be Mason Swinford, Isaac Swinford, Billy Norlin, Kyle Norlin, Corey Norlin and Jason Stone.
