Charles E. Peterson, 77, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Charles Edward was born on Sept. 2, 1946 in Blackwell, OK to Finis Lewis Peterson and Helen Foster. At an early age his family moved from Blackwell to California. At age 17 he joined the United States Army and proudly served our country.

Charles married Yvonne (Doerr) and they had four children. In March of 1998, he met Althea Zornes in Colorado. They have been blessed with 26 years together.

Charles loved fishing, horses and treasure hunting. He was a Big Foot enthusiast and greatly enjoyed reading stories of sightings online.

Surviving family includes his wife Althea, of their home in Blackwell; children; Shane Peterson and wife Wilma, Keith Peterson and wife Jenny and Gary Peterson; 3 sisters, Betty Rath, Bonnie Kelly and Connie Grace; one brother, Lyall Rath and seven grandchildren; Colin, Anndrea, Gage, Autumn, Zayden, Heidi and Hayden.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jesse Peterson and two brothers, Terry Goodell and Lloyd Peterson.

Arrangements for cremation were made under the direction of Roberts and Son Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time.
