Carolyn Kay Gibson

(January 13, 1945 – August 25, 2016)

Carolyn Kay Gibson of Nardin, Oklahoma, died Thursday evening, August 25, 2016, at her home in Nardin at the age of 71 years.

Carolyn Kay Gibson was born on January 13, 1945, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to James A. and Doris Maxine (Wassom) Sneath. She grew up in Kay County attending Nardin Schools before transferring into Blackwell High School. She married Garry Ray Gibson on January 20, 1967, in Blackwell and she worked as an accounts payable clerk for Conoco in Ponca City. Her husband preceded her in death on August 4, 2006, and she continued to make Nardin her home. She was a member of the Nardin United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with family, especially Sunday dinners.

She is survived by a daughter, Ronda Perkins of Maryville, Tennessee; a son, Randy Gibson of Nardin; a brother, Gary Sneath of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren, Randa Rowe and husband Tyler, Shane Backus and fiancé Marlena, Wes Love and fiancé Lindsey all of Blackwell, Lyle Pennington and wife Lindsey of Burns Flat, Oklahoma, and Garth Pennington and fiancé Haley of Cushing, Oklahoma; and numerous great grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10th in the Nardin United Methodist Church with Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her honor with the Blackwell Eastern Star Chapter in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
