Bronson “BJ” (Roughface) Roughface, Jr.
July 5, 1964 ~ February 4, 2021 (age 56)
Bronson “BJ” Roughface, Jr. Returned home to our heavenly Father Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the age of 55.
On July 5, 1964 is when another soul joined the Roughface family. Bronson Roughface Jr., or as he’s most known by “BJ”, and so his life began in Pawnee, Oklahoma with his mother Vivian Blueback Pemberton, his father Bronson Roughface, Sr, whom he is named after, his three sisters Gladys Burris, Nelcine Roughface Warrior, Roxanna “Roxie” Roughface Cornell and his brother Nelson Roughface. Later came along his two little sisters Rebecca DeHart and Bethany Roughface.
BJ loved shinny and Pow-Wow, but his all-time favorite was shooting pool while slamming down a bud light at Wayne’s Tavern when it was in business. Pool and bud light were his best friends, that’s who he would live for.
He also loved his people. Anytime somebody needed something, he was always there to give, never expecting anything in return. He enjoyed telling stories from back in his day growing up. He adored and loved all of his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They all held a very special place in his heart. When birthdays and holidays came around, he was very thoughtful.
BJ was an amazing husband to his wife Jeanne Roughface Payne and most of all amazing father to his three sons Branden Roughface, Clayton Roughface, Bronson “Sonny” Roughface III, and his only daughter Sarah “Rose” Jean Roughface.
Preceding him in death are his parents Vivian Blueback Pemberton and Bronson Roughface, Sr, son Bronson Sonny” Roughface, III, brother Nelson Roughface, and sisters, Gladys Burris, Nelcine Roughface Warrior, Roxanna “Roxie” Roughface Cornell and Rebecca DeHart.
In all, BJ was a very giving, thoughtful, strong and humble Ponca man.
