Brantley L. Hope, age 14, resident of Ponca City, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Ponca City.

A memorial ceremony to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma with Pastor Michael Taylor officiating. Brantley will be laid to rest privately at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Brantley was born on February 28, 2004 in Oklahoma City, OK. Brantley was a bright and energetic young man, enthusiastic with a spark for life. Brantley was loyal to his family and friends. Brantley attended First Baptist Church from the time he was a baby and was baptized August 14, 2011. He was raised in Ponca City and attended First Lutheran School from Pre-K through 6th grade and later East Middle School. Music was a major part of Brantley’s life when he wasn’t at school. Excelling at the piano, he took lessons for many years. In addition to playing the piano, Brantley often had his portable speaker with him, listening to his favorite songs at the time. Boxing, video games, super hero films, archery and fishing were other activities Brantley enjoyed. While in 8th grade, Brantley delighted in playing football at Shanger Middle School in Texas. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his father, Richard J. Hope and partner Cord Travis of Sherman, TX, birth mother, Jena Barnhill of Oklahoma City, mother, “Grammie” Sharon and “Papa” Jack Brantley of Ponca City, sister, Colby D. Hope of Sherman, TX, maternal grandmother, Judy Randour of Oklahoma City, maternal grandfather, Glenn Barnhill and wife Ann of AZ, paternal grandfather, John Hope and Wife Rachel of Spencer, TX, paternal great grandmother Audrey Hope of Cushing, OK, uncles: Patrick T. Hope and fiancée Lori Smith of Corpus Christi, TX, and David S. Brantley and wife De Ann of Bakersfield, CA, great aunt Phyllis Salina of Indianapolis, IN, aunt Brenda Coats of Cushing, OK, great great uncle Gerald Swope of Bella Vista, AR and many cousins and friends.

Brantley was preceded in death by his great grandmother Cleo Leterle and great great uncles Eldon Swope, Donald Swope and great great aunt Dorothy Carr.

Honorary casket bearers will be his best friend Trenton Kleinschmidt and cousins Mason Hope, Garrett Hope, Carter Hope, Jett Hope, Jeff Swope, and Greg Swope.
