Bobby Joe Webb, Jr.

(August 30, 1950 – February 2, 2017)

Bobby Joe Webb Jr. of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2017, at his home at the age of 66 years, may he rest in peace.

Bobby Joe Webb Jr. was born on August 30, 1950, in Blackwell to Bobby Joe and Donna Lou (Looper) Webb Sr. He grew up in Blackwell attending New Bethel Rural School through the fifth grade before attending Blackwell Public Schools. He graduated from Blackwell High School in 1968. He worked as a roustabout in the oilfields along with working construction and cement jobs. He loved nature and never felt closer to God than being outside. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and arrow head collector, even logging where he found his arrow heads. He loved working with his hands and spending time with his family, especially his son and his nephews. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell.

He is survived by his mother, Donna Webb of Blackwell; his son, Tyle Christensen Webb and wife Lorena of Albert Lea, Minnesota; three sisters, Teresa Caves and husband Terry of Wichita Falls, Texas, Lia Brown of Blackwell, and Brenda Adams and husband Rick of Blackwell; a brother, Craig Webb and wife Verla of Blackwell; grandchildren, Julia, Jaden and Justin Christensen Webb of Albert Lea, Minnesota; cousins who were like brothers, Richard and Phillip Looper of Blackwell; aunts, uncles, great nieces and great nephews and several cousins, as well as his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Fred and Mabel Looper and Jess and Myrtle Webb; and a cousin who was like a brother, Tony Looper.

A memorial graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 8th at the Blackwell Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Koch of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Honorary casketbearers will be Brandon Pontius, Chad Pontius, Roy Webb, Craig Webb Jr., Bryce Brown, Briley Brown and Bron Brown.

A memorial has been established in his honor with the American Legion Memorial Fund in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
