Bob Eudale Coffey of Blackwell, Oklahoma died Sunday, March 18, 2018, at his home in Blackwell at the age of 86 years.
Bob Eudale Coffey was born on July 4, 1931 to R.T. and Flora Blaine (Lay) Coffey in Wild Horse, Oklahoma. The family moved to Blackwell when Bob was young, and he grew up there and graduated from Blackwell high school. On September 7, 1954, Bob married the love of his life, Geraldine Coates, in Fairfax, Oklahoma. They raised their family in Blackwell and had three children.
Bob was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Korean War, and was also a member of the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. While in Blackwell, he spent twenty-three years working for Blackwell Zinc Smelter doing a variety of different jobs. He was also a Commander at the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Blackwell.
Bob enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, singing, and loved to play the harmonica for the worship team at church. He also loved to cook, and was known for his biscuits and gravy, and country ribs and cabbage. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Geraldine, sister Patty Coffey, and several half-brothers.
He is survived by his two sons, Brad Coffey and wife Kelly of Tonkawa, and Dennis Coffey and wife Shari of Blackwell; a daughter, Denise Conaway and husband Craig of Tulsa; a sister, Eula Kindle of Springdale, Arkansas; two half-sisters, Joan Kennedy and Brenda Ellrod and husband Jim, both of southeast Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Crista Lombard of Tulsa, Ryan Coffey and wife Kristen of Tonkawa, Keith Kennedy of Andover, Kansas, Ashley Hedges of Blackwell, Drew Coffey of Blackwell, Denise Head and husband Neal of Braman, and Jordan Conaway and wife Faith of Tulsa; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Chase, Ryann, Bailey, Caden, Tate, Kyson, Payton, Lakyn, Harper, Gavin, Graham, Zakk, and Kristina.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22nd at the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell, Oklahoma with Pastor Kelly Coffey of the Tonkawa First Assembly of God and Rev. Kevin Bookout of the Blackwell First Free Will Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Ryan Coffey, Drew Coffey, Jordan Conaway, Keith Kennedy, Neal Head, Chase Day, and Kyson Head.
Honorary casketbearers will be David Lawson, James Fierce, James Dunn, and his great-grandchildren.
