Obituary for Bill McEnany

Bill McEnany, resident of Ponca City, OK, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at his home. He was 84.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Ratterman, officiating. Burial will then follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park, Ponca City, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Bill was born on May 3, 1930 to Ralph McEnany and Bessie (Shook) McEnany in Ponca City,OK. He was raised in Ponca City,OK. He was married to Betty Sue Minor on May 17, 1952 in Paso Robles, CA. He worked as a pipefitter for the Local Union 767.

Bill joined the army in 1952 and he was stationed at Camp Roberts, CA. He was then sent to Germany for 18 months. He was discharged from the army in February of 1954. He joined the Local 767 Plumbers & Pipefitters in June 1954. After some traveling with the union he came back to settle in Ponca City. Then he was elected the Business Manager for Local 767 from 1965 to 1988. While being the BA they traveled to many places in the US including Alaska, Hawaii and Nova Scotia. He retired in 1988 at the age of 58. In his earlier days he enjoyed bowling and bowled in out of town tournaments, cooking, baking, gardening, spending time with his grandchildren, camping and most of all fishing.

He is survived by his son, Michael McEnany and wife Pam of Ponca City, OK; daughter, Lisa Morrison and husband Kevin of Ponca City, OK; sister, Reba Swopes of Ponca City, OK; sister Joyce McGowen of Ponca City, OK; and daughter-in-law, Sandy McEnany of Ponca City, OK. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Heath McEnany and wife Erica of Ponca City; Victoria Stockton of Ponca City; Tyler McEnany of Ponca City; Sara Ward and husband Chris of Riverton, IA; John McEnany of Ponca City; Korbin Morrison and wife Amy of Cushing, OK; Rachel Morrison of Sauk Rapids, MN; and Kyle Morrison of Idaho Fall, ID and also 11 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife Betty; Son, Steven McEnany; Parents, Ralph and Bessie McEnany; Brother, Eugene McEnany and Sister, Lois Evans.

Casketbearers will be John McEnany, David Stieber, Barry Roller, Chris Ward, Kyle Morrison, and Tyler McEnany.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 N. Union, ste 103, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601.
