Obituary for Bertha Kelley

Bertha Faye Kelley of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday afternoon, July 21, 2014, at her home at the age of 73 years.

Bertha Faye Kelley was born on June 9, 1941, in Alva, Oklahoma, to Lee Levi and Georgia Evelyn (Stauffacher) Rader. As a young girl she moved with her family to Blackwell where she graduated from Blackwell High School in 1958. Following her education she married Lloyd Andy Weant on July 5, 1958, in Blackwell and she served her family as a homemaker. For several years they cared for and nurtured many foster children. In 1982 she began working as a seamstress for Southwest Cupid in Blackwell and worked there until her retirement in 1990. On September 25, 1990, she married Jasper Dale Kelley in Blackwell and they settled in Waldron, Arkansas, where they worked for Tyson Foods. In 2006 they returned to Blackwell to make their home. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and canning various foods.

She is survived by her husband, Jasper Dale Kelley of Blackwell; two daughters, Tobie Wright of Blackwell and Deana Wilson of Enid; two sons, Randy Weant of Alexandria, Missouri, and Lance Weant of Ponca City; seventeen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Florence Dandridge and Georgia Smith; and two brothers, Johnnie and Don Rader.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 24th in the Immanuel Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Tim Boyett of the Assembly of God Church in Wagoner officiating.

Honorary casketbearers will be Larry and Cindy Hart and Brad and Kayla Unruh.
