Obituary for Barbara Burdick

Barbara Jean Burdick, former resident of Ponca City and current resident of Cushing, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Stillwater Medical Center. She was 61 years of age.

Barbara was born February 25, 1953 in Ponca City, the daughter of Aubrey Goddard and Dorothy (Stong) Goddard. She attended Ponca City Public Schools and Bartlesville Nursing School. She was married to Louis Burdick on November 15, 1972.

She was a homemaker that loved her grandchildren immensely, and enjoyed all the times spent with family. One of her favorite sayings to her grandchildren was “go chase yourselves”. She also enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening and loved going to the beach.

She is survived by her husband Louis, of the home; three children, Scott Burdick and wife Gladys, of Leslie, Michigan, Dan Burdick and wife Elizabeth, of Shidler, and Lisa Burdick of Cushing; eight grandchildren, Island, Seana, Zachary, Samuel, Joe, Keaton, Scott and Elizabeth; two brothers, Tony Goddard and Kenneth Goddard; two sisters, Cheryl Wells and Debbie Goddard; other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Raymond Goddard, Jerry Goddard and Leary Goddard.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Casket bearers are Scott Burdick, Jason Burdick, Shane Burdick, Pete Burdick, Mitch Burdick and Toby Burdick.
