Barbara Ann Bales

January 19, 1943 – October 14, 2023

Barbara went to Jesus on October 14, 2023, at the age of 80. She was born to Edward and Ann Anduss in Newton, KS. Graveside service will be 3pm Monday, October 23, 2023 at

Resthaven Memorial Park, Ponca City, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

She was introduced to her husband, Neva Bales, through his sister Nyoka, who was friends with Barbara. She began corresponding with him while he was in the Navy. When he returned home, they married and had four children. While they spent many years in Buffalo, New York, they eventually settled back in Ponca City where they both grew up.

Barbara spent many years as a nurse’s aide. She liked caring for people and deeply loved her family. She will be remembered for kindness and her generous heart.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Neva Bales. She is survived by four children. Anthony Bales of Ponca City, Teresa Sober (Jim) of Park City, Kansas, Gary Bales (Judy) of Ponca City, Patrick Bales (Tonya) of Tulsa. She has six grandchildren Holly Lutton, Brian Sober, Ethan Bales, Betsy Bales, Casey Badley and Wesley Badley.
