August Marie Gazaway
July 2, 1998 – July 26, 2018
August Marie Gazaway, age 20, resident of Ponca City, passed away July 26, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Blackwell, Oklahoma with Pastor Matt Smith officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
August was born on July 2, 1998 to Bill Gazaway and Julia Vitamvas in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She attended Ponca City schools and graduated in 2016. August worked at A1 Savannahs, where she was able to help take care of animals. This was one of her many passions she enjoyed in life. She loved animals. Any time she saw one in need it broke her heart if she couldn’t rescue it.
August had many joys in life such as going to the lake, riding horses, dancing, listening to music, and hanging out with friends and family. She had an unforgettable smile and presence that lit up the room when she walked in. She was friendly and outgoing, never wanting anyone to feel left out or unwanted. She always tried to see the good in people, believing everyone deserved a second chance. August loved intensely and with her whole heart. She was a strong independent woman that stood up for what she believed in. The world seems a little darker now without her, but she will always be in our hearts.
Most of all, August loved being a mom to her baby boy, Gabriel. He meant the world to her, he was her everything. She enjoyed taking him to the park, playing with him, and cuddling while watching cartoons. Her goal was to give him everything she could. She was an amazing mom.
August is survived by her precious two year old son, Gabriel Chase Brumley; parents, Bill and Kristi Gazaway of Ponca City, and Julia Vitamvas of Ponca City; siblings, Haley Smithen and Donovan Gazaway of Ponca City, Vanessa Barnett of Broken Arrow, and Walker Frazier of Ponca City; grandparents, Linda Ramsey of Ponca City, Keith and Kelly Fierce of Blackwell, Jeff Rosamond of Sparks; great-grandparents, Carla Cannon of Sparks, Betty Hicks of Blackwell, and Carson and Sandy Creed of Blackwell. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Debra Rosamond of Sparks, grandfather, Roy Ramsey of Ponca City, and grandfather, Bob Gazaway of Ponca City.
