Alyce Joyce Kohler of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Saturday morning, April 10, 2021, in the Stillwater Medical Center – Blackwell, at the age of 93 years.
Alyce Joyce Kohler was born on February 13, 1928, in Braman, Oklahoma, to Lowell W. and Agnes Marie (Hanyka) Conrad. She attended Braman Public Schools and graduated from Braman High School. Alyce married Edward Raymond Kohler on July 7, 1946 and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1984. She was active with her daughters growing up in Bluebirds and Campfire Girls. She was a member of the Kay County Election Board, Methodist Women and an original member of the Friendship Class at the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, embroidering and crocheting. Most of all, Alyce loved her family more than anything.
She is survived by five daughters, Linda Kohler-Koesel of Enid, Carla Kervin of Ponca City, Lois Hood and husband John of Blackwell, Donita Raborg and husband Wayne of Stillwater, and Judy Patrick and husband Scott of Owasso; a sister-in-law, Mary Baumgardner; six grandchildren, Pamala Shaffer, Stephanie Helmick, Billy Kervin Jr., Lisa Raymond, Jacob Patrick and Jenna Patrick; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Oard and Ella Mae Barclay; a step brother, George Baumgardner; and a son-in-law, James Koesel.
Casket bearers will be John Hood, Wayne Raborg, Scott Patrick, Jacob Patrick, Gary Shaffer and Jason Helmick.
Private family services are scheduled.
A memorial has been established with Blackwell First United Methodist Church, 524 W Coolidge Avenue, Blackwell OK 74631, care of Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
