Alberta “Blondie” Berdina (Atkins) Kirn
November 1, 1941 ~ November 19, 2020 (age 79)
Alberta Berdina Atkins Kirn passed away on November 19, 2020 in Enid at the age of 79. She began her worldly journey at the family home in Red Rock, Okla. on November 1, 1941 to her parents Baxter Davis and Virgie Rachel (Wildbird) Atkins.
Blondie grew up in the Red Rock area, graduating from Red Rock High School. After she finished school and started her own family, there were many adventures to be had. She was a wonderful mother to her four children: Kim, Sundance, Shawn and Berdina. They would travel and move between, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Wyoming and Montana. Blondie was well loved by many. Everywhere she lived she left her mark on those around her. She had a true caring and giving nature. Her heart went into helping others in any way she was able.
Blondie was an independent woman that wasn’t afraid to stand her ground. If she knew she was right, she wouldn’t back down. Her honesty was such that she even did a term or two as the Mayor of Red Rock and was also the President of the Otoe War Mothers. Blondie will be lovingly remembered for her beadwork and tribal regalia creations. She loved sports of all kinds but was a true fan of her grandbabies when they played and OSU (although some might think OU).
Blondie is survived by her children: Kim and her husband Curtis Burgess Jr, Will “Sundance” and his wife Donnette Kirn, Shawn Kirn and Berdina and her husband Vernon Tohee, grandchildren: Dakota Kirn, Candice Kirn, Tala Kirn, Aliyah Kirn, Slade Kirn, Tori Tohee, Tia Tohee, Vernon N Tohee, Elijah Tohee and Jaxsen Tohee, nine great grandchildren, siblings: Mickie Oulds, Jackie Deere, Lillian Atkins and Vergil Atkins, Sr, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Baxter and Virgie, two grandchildren: Chance Kirn and James Tohee and brothers: Vernon Atkins, Gilbert Atkins, Aaron Atkins, and Wilson Atkins.
A Graveside service will be held in Blondies honor on Sunday, November 22, 2020. The funeral procession will depart Grace Memorial Chapel at 1:15 pm to take Blondie to her resting place in the Otoe-Missoura Tribal Cemetery in Red Rock, Okla.
