Lois is remembered as Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She loved family first; she also loved being a teacher. She began her teaching career teaching sixth grade at Newkirk Elementary School. Later, she went on to teach for several years at St. Mary’s Catholic School and Trout Elementary School in Ponca City, Oklahoma. After having retired from teaching in 2000, she became a State Mentor for the Great Expectations program, which focuses on the human quality of teaching and learning.

Lois was quite the hostess. She loved to entertain others with a fabulous meal. Lois was phenomenal at making her braid bread. She was the Kay County gold medal winner at the bread baking contest. She also sold her braid bread, also known as Grandma Bread, at Miller Market in Ponca City for years.

Lois was always willing to help anyone in need. From this, she developed many long and lasting friendships.

She was a lover of “good” red wine, the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Basketball was her favorite sport and she befriended many Cowboy basketball players and coaches over the years.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that you donate in her honor to St Mary’s Catholic School in Ponca City, Oklahoma. https://schoolofsaintmary.com/donate/
