Gerhardt Ronald (Gery) Pralle, 82, died February 11, 2025 at his home in Ponca City, OK. He was born in Enid, OK, to G.F. and Lydia Pralle on March 31, 1942. He attended Zion Lutheran Church and School in Fairmont, OK, before attending St. John’s Academy in Winfield, KS, where he received his high school diploma and his Associate’s Degree. He received his BS in Education from Concordia Teacher’s College, Seward NE, and his Master’s in Education from Kent State University in Kent, OH. He married Marilyn A. Mueller on August 3, 1963, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Blue Bell, PA. They were married for 62 years and had 2 daughters, Tanya and Heather.
He served as a Minister of Religious Education and Lutheran Parochial teacher and or principal at Bethany Lutheran, Parma, OH; Grace Lutheran, Teaneck, NJ; Concord Lutheran, Pagedale, MO; Tulsa Lutheran, Tulsa, OK; and Topeka Lutheran, Topeka, KS. He and his wife Marilyn retired to Oklahoma and became members of First Lutheran Church and School, Ponca City, OK. He served as Elder, choir member, Laborer for Christ, Student of the Word, and a champion for Lutheran schools in various capacities. He loved to travel, sail, farm, garden, and listen to music, especially jazz. He loved to spend time with family and friends along with his wife and best friend, Marilyn.
Gery is preceded in death by his parents G.F. and Lydia Pralle of Fairmont, OK, and former son-in-law David Crawford. He is survived by wife Marilyn A. Pralle of Ponca City, OK; daughter and son-in-law Tanya and Steve Hercyk of Ponca City, OK, and daughter and son-in-law Heather and Michael Schroeder of Tulsa, OK, Leroy and Paula Pralle, of Salina, KS; by his grandchildren, Nathan Hercyk of Ponca City, OK; Aubrey and Matt Hickman of Edmond, OK; Hannah Hercyk of Edmond, OK; Austin and Aubree Hercyk of Ponca City, OK; by one great grandchild, Habben Hickman, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Concordia University, 800 N. Columbia Ave. Seward, NE 68434
The memorial service will be held at 10 am, Monday, February 17, at First Lutheran Church, 1101 N. 4th Street, Ponca City, OK. The internment to follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Fairmont, OK at 2:30pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
