Brad Larimer
May 30, 1961 - January 24, 2025
Bradley DeWayne Larimer, 63, of Ponca City, OK, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, after a hard-fought, 12 year battle with cancer. Brad was born on Tuesday, May 30, 1961, in Greenville, TX, to Stephen D. and Virginia D. (Gough) Larimer. He graduated from PoHi in 1979. He later attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of PHI KAPPA PSI. He earned his education degree in mathematics, and went on to teach and coach for 38 years. He later received a Master’s Degree from SWOSU. Brad was dedicated to his profession and inspired many students to “do the right thing,” or, “do you want to rephrase that,” though it may have taken a few pushups to get them there. He married Christina Root on March 12, 2005, and they began a life together of which they had each only dreamed. Travel by car or RV was one of his favorite things to do, especially if it meant being with family.
Brad is survived by: his wife, Christina of the home; children Ashley Putman and Joshua, of Birmingham, AL; Krystle Dick and Brian, of Oklahoma City, OK; Stacie Hobbs and Cameron Crockett, of Yukon, OK; Matthew Larimer and Nicole, of Ponca City, OK; Matt Root and Gloria, of Yukon, OK; Jeffrey Larimer and Ashley, of Ponca City, OK. He was Papa to 17 grandchildren, a loving brother to Michael Larimer and Cyndi, of Claremore, OK and Stephanie Larimer, of Stillwater, OK. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded by his mother, Virginia, and father, Stephen “Big Daddy” Larimer.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Larimer, Jeffrey Larimer, Matt Root, Joshua Putman, Brian Dick, and Cameron Crockett.
