Barbara Ann Seabridge

Barbara Ann Seabridge passed away on February 3, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of 85. She was born on September 23, 1939, in Ponca City, OK to Victor and Zoma (Hubby) Lane. She grew up in the Ponca City area and attended school there, graduating in 1957. After graduation, she worked at an optometrist’s office in Ponca City. On October 2, 1958, Barbara married Douglas Seabridge at the Lutheran Church in Ponca City; he preceded her in death on January 10, 2002, after 43 years of marriage. When they first married, they lived in Osage County on a farm.
They had Dirk on October 4, 1959, and Lisa on February 9, 1961. After the kids were born, Barbara was a stay-at-home mom. While the kids were small, she attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, OK for two years.
Barbara worked at Charlie Ryan Taco Hut and then went on to work at Quality Water Services, working as an office manager, and retiring after 30 years. Barbara was a member of the Community Christian Church in Ponca City. She loved her family, dancing, and being in the mountains.
In her final months, Barbara was blessed to be cared for by Julie Beach, whose kindness and compassion were a source of great comfort. Julie’s presence was a gift, and the family is deeply grateful for the care and support she provided during that time.
She is survived by her son, Dirk (Kathie) Seabridge of Blackwell, OK; her daughter, Lisa Seabridge of Oklahoma City, OK; her grandsons Sean (John) Barker-Seabridge of Provo, UT, and Scott (Brittany) Seabridge and great-grandson, Callen, of Perry, OK; Trent (Tiffany) Shoptese and their children, Bryce, Brooklyn, and Brody of Ponca City, OK, Alicia Shoptese and her children, Odi, Eugene, Elizabeth, Amanda, and Kelly of Oklahoma City, OK, and Mollie (Rachel) Shoptese and their children, Trenton, Teagan, and Treyson of Ponca City, OK; her brother, Buddy Klumpp of Ponca City, OK; and her nephews Mike (Cynthia) Klumpp of Edmond, OK and Larry (Cindie) Klumpp of Ponca City, OK.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernie and Eudean Seabridge; sister-in-law(s) Mildred Klumpp and Audre Seabridge; and her companion of 12 years, Gene Henderson.
Services are scheduled for 11am, Tuesday, February 11th, at Community Christian Church in Ponca City, OK with Gary Bell. Burial will be at Fairfax Cemetery at 2pm.
Pallbearers will be Sean Barker-Seabridge, Scott Seabridge, Mike Klumpp, Larry Klumpp, Odi Brown, and Eugene Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Barker-Seabridge, Brittany Seabridge, Johnny and Ann Thornburgh, Greg and Crystal Self, Casey and Vicky Osborn, and Red and Sue Williams.
A memorial has been established with St. Jude’s c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, OK 74631.
