Superintendent Shelley Arrott, Nolan Overman, and Po-Hi Principal Thad Dilbeck.

The Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week is Po-Hi Senior Nolan Overman.

“Nolan exemplifies many aspects of the Wildcat Way. He participates in FFA, plays the cello in orchestra, and has recently joined the Wildcat Bowling Club Team,” Superintendent Shelley Arrott said. “In all of these activities, he demonstrates a strong work ethic and strives to become his personal best, spending countless hours above and beyond class time and required practices just trying to develop his own skills in the activities he is involved.

“He is a great teammate because he is supportive and works with anyone to help them improve their own skills. His caring attitude, positive demeanor, and calming presence give others a sense of confidence which adds that additional boost for success.

“Not only is Nolan involved in several activities at Po-Hi, he also attends Pioneer Tech and participates in the Culinary Arts Program,” Arrott said. “Nolan plans to be a chef and open his own kitchen one day! He would own a ‘home cooking’ type kitchen for breakfast and lunch, and diners that would transition to offer a five-course gourmet meal for evening dinners. Nolan tells me his specialty is baking, and he thinks his best baked delicacy is his banana nut bread.

“Nolan, based on your dedication to becoming your personal best at whatever you do, I am sure you will be a successful chef and entrepreneur. I cannot wait to eat at your kitchen one day,” she said. “As we mentioned, Mr. Dilbeck will partake in your breakfast and lunch offerings, and you need to count me in for that five-course gourmet meal! In the meantime, we will all gladly serve as taste-testers for your banana nut bread!

“I appreciate your positive attitude, but I am super impressed with the authentic, relevant goals you have for your future. Those who are interested in what they do are always more successful, and I can certainly tell your true passion is in the kitchen.”

The Wildcat of the Week receives a Wildcat of the Week T-shirt, a Wildcat window sticker, and a coupon for a delicious burger basket from Ground Round.
