NOC’s Krause reaches coaching milestone

Northern Oklahoma College women’s basketball coach Greg Krause won his 600th game Saturday in a 77-69 win over Redlands in Tonkawa.

Krause is in his 39th season at NOC, he began his coaching career in 1982-83.

“I appreciate the opportunity to coach and teach at Northern,” Krause said.  “Working with student-athletes on the court and with students in the classroom is a real joy in my life.”

NOC President Dr. Cheryl Evans said, “We are excited for Coach Krause to reach this milestone for career wins and we are proud of his accomplishments.”

Athletic Director Alan Foster added, “I have utmost respect for Coach Krause on accomplishing 600 career wins.  It is indicative sustained success over and long period of time.  I can only imagine the number of student athletes he has impacted during all these victories.  There are obviously many quality people who are part of this accomplishment.”

Krause is a graduate of Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and did graduate work at Oklahoma State University and Arizona State University.

NOC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and offers associate degrees in three general areas: Arts, Science and Applied Science.  The associate degree fulfills lower-division course work which is applicable towards a bachelor’s degree.
