Want to be a part of the Creation Station of Imagination? Northern Oklahoma College several spots waiting for you; POWER to the CREATORS.
The Digital Media Institute (DMI) at Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa is accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year.
“DMI at NOC is the greatest secret in the Midwest,” said director Brad Matson.
According to Matson, DMI offers a comprehensive curriculum that can help students gain digital design and animation skills as well as experience in the real-world production environment for a fraction of the cost at any other college.
“DMI’s educational experience in animation and digital media can lead to a more focused college educational opportunity when transferring to a four-year institution. If looking for employment there are jobs in several industries within the entertainment industry,” he added.
Job offerings exist in video game asset creation, broadcast design, visual effects, video, and digital film production. Other job opportunities are in the fields of government, healthcare, military, and industrial professions with simulations and animations, advertising, communications, and marketing: commercial spots, bumpers, rebranding, social media promotions, station identity and corporate identity.
“DMI sits at the forefront of educational experiences,” he said. “This educational opportunity is very affordable and is a great stepping stone to entry-level employment or a scholarship for an advanced, specialized degree.”
The Digital Media Institute (DMI) is an institution within Northern Oklahoma College (NOC). It’s facilities and classes are located on the main campus of NOC located in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
DMI offers a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree in Digital Media, Animation and Design (DMAD), preparing students who complete the degree for a career in digital media.
The Digital Media, Animation and Design degree focuses on taking ideas and concepts and developing them into a refined and finished project. Teaching students’ organizational skills and processes
needed to gain employment in various positions across digital media careers.
Students will be exposed to the many fields of digital media allowing them to find their strengths and weaknesses. With this information, the students’ success will depend on their thirst for knowledge.
The Digital Media Institute provides the students with the information, tools and room for growth to whatever height the student chooses.
The Digital Media, Animation and Design degree has allowed past students to obtain a job right after program completion. This degree has also been an excellent jumping off point for students pursuing a Bachelors of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degree as well as allowing the student to find their passion before pursuing a very specific field at a much larger and more expensive university.
