Diondre Alexander receives Donald R. Hays Scholarship

Northern Oklahoma College basketball player Diondre Alexander was presented the Donald R. Hays Scholarship recipient for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Alexander is a Business Administration major who graduated from John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City.

The late Ms. Eleanor Hays established this scholarship is 1991 in memory of her husband, Mr. Donald R. Hays, who was a former basketball player at Northern (at the time it was called the University Preparatory School) and the University of Oklahoma.

Alexander will receive this scholarship award for being the basketball player who attained the highest grade point average during their freshman fall semester at Northern Oklahoma College.

Presenting the scholarship certificate to Diondre is Maverick’s Head Coach Donnie Jackson.  The presentation was made March 20.

Jordan Webster receives Nevona Kegans Scholarship

Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa Athletic Training student Jordan Webster, was awarded the Nevona Kegans Scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Webster is a HPER Athletic Training major who graduated from Hilldale High School in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

The Nevona Kegans scholarship is presented to an athletic training student attending the NOC Tonkawa Campus. Kegans was instrumental in establishing the athletic training program at Northern. Webster is the 4th recipient of this award and will receive a $500.00 scholarship.

Presenting the scholarship certificate to Jordan is Summer McClure, Athletic Trainer.

Webster was awarded the scholarship at a presentation March 20.

Nate Goodlow receives Jared Weiberg Endowed Scholarship

Nate Goodlow is the recipient of the Northern Oklahoma College Jared Weiberg Endowed Scholarship for the 2021-22 academic year.

Goodlow is a Health and Physical Education major from Midwest City, Oklahoma.

The Jared Weiberg Endowed scholarship is presented to a member of the Maverick Men’s Basketball team whose qualities include a strong work ethic, loyalty, unselfishness, and a passion for basketball. Goodlow is the 20th recipient of this award and will receive a $1000.00 scholarship.

The scholarship is in memory of former Maverick Jared Weiberg.

Presenting the scholarship certificate to Goodlow is Head Coach Donnie Jackson.  Goodlow’s name will be inscribed on the memorial plaque, which is displayed in the lobby of the Vineyard Library-Administration building.

The scholarship was presented Saturday, March 20.
