Three Northern Oklahoma College employees are receiving Oklahoma Association of Community College (OACC) awards for 2020.

Receiving awards are Sandy Jensen for Outstanding Support Staff, Jamie Haney for Outstanding Professional Employee, and Tammy Davis for Outstanding Faculty Member.

Jensen is an academic advisor/retention specialist at NOC Enid, Haney is the Director of Printing Services at NOC Tonkawa, and Davis is a Language Arts Instructor at NOC Stillwater.

Jensen will be recognized at the Nov. 5 OACC Support Staff Virtual Conference while Haney and Davis will be recognized at the Jan. 29, 2021 OACC Virtual Annual Conference.

“NOC is blessed with amazing caring employees,” said president Dr Cheryl Evans.  “I’m so proud of these three individuals who frequently go above and beyond to help our institution create life-changing experiences for our students.  They truly do whatever it takes to do their part for student success.”

Davis has been with NOC 17 years working in the Gateway Program at NOC Stillwater.

“I’ve been and continue to be surrounded by remarkable students,” Davis said.  “They have inspired me to be better for those on all sides of this educational partnership.  My role as an educator is to believe in, encourage, offer hope to, and lift up my students – with a touch of grace included.”

Haney has worked at NOC on two separate occasions totaling 15 years; the final nine as Director of Printing Services.

“I joined the Northern family as support staff in the printshop,” Haney said. “I grew with NOC, accomplishing each position in the printshop, achieving a dream to become Director of Printing Services. My highly talented team and I provide print, copy, bulk mail, design, photography and bindery support to all three campuses and maintain the College’s Institutional and Athletic Brands. I enjoy working in a team environment where even though you are doing the same things every day, it is always different”

Jensen works as an advisor and retention specialist at NOC Enid.

“I have been with NOC for over 20 years, and each year has provided new challenges and learning opportunities,” Jensen said.   “During this time, I have worked with several departments, which are both unique and homogenous.  Each department has its own duties and responsibilities, yet each department is committed to a common goal of providing excellence in instruction and customer service.  Education is not a stagnate profession, and NOC continuously reviews its policies to provide the best experience for students. I am proud to work for NOC and look forward to the upcoming years.
