New Fatherhood Initiative Program Strong Dads Begins Soon

A new Fatherhood Initiative Program called Strong Dads is being introduced by the Kay County OSU Extension office in Newkirk. The program is made possible through a grant from Oklahoma Human Services. It is a program designed by fathers for fathers to enhance the number of tools in your parenting toolbox. Dads will learn skills that inspire, connect and flourish their relationship with their kids.

This program is a 12-week program and will discuss topics such as communication and fathering and parenting skills. Topics include, positive parenting habits, developing a growth mindset with your child and how to use the secret power of “yet”. Dads will connect with like-minded dads who are committed to giving their best to their children.

This workshop is free and open to any father figure such as dads, step-dads, foster dads, grand fathers that are raising their grandchildren and expecting dads.

An English speaking workshop begins in 2024 at Marland’s Place, 1300 Summers Place, in Ponca City from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. For more information and to register, contact Cathy Denning at 580-362-3194 or email  [email protected].

A light meal is available at 5:30 pm at each workshop and discussion begins at 6:00 pm.
