National Senior Citizens Day is August 21

Ponca City Now-Ponca City Police Dept. - August 21, 2023 10:46 am

August 21st is National Senior Citizens Day and it was proclaimed in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.
Today serves to recognize the accomplishments and efforts of senior citizens across the country and it honors the impact senior citizens have had on all of us.
To help honor them, the Ponca City Police Department would like to encourage everyone to check on the senior citizens in their  life.
Our senior citizens often fall victim to a wide array of fraud and deception, despite their best efforts to avoid them.
If they need help or suggestions, feel free to call PCPD at 767-0370.
It’s still hot outside, and the holidays are quickly approaching, so make sure they’re safe and doing alright. Give them a call. Send them a card. Stop by and say hello.
Whatever you do, make sure you let them know they’re appreciated.
