National Guard to deploy to Kuwait

TULSA, Okla. (AP) – The Oklahoma National Guard says the 834th Aviation Support Battalion is preparing for deployment to Kuwait.

A ceremony is planned for Sunday for about 25 members of the battalion who will travel first to Fort Hood, Texas, for training, then to Kuwait.

The ceremony is to begin at 9 a.m. at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Tulsa.

The battalion will spend about 10 months in Kuwait where it will provide maintenance on several types of aircraft.
