Multiple Winter Storms Until Late Next Week

… SEVERAL ROUNDS OF WINTER PRECIPITATION EXPECTED THROUGH LATE NEXT WEEK…

MULTIPLE STORM SYSTEMS MOVING ACROSS THE REGION WILL CAUSE SEVERAL ROUNDS OF WINTER PRECIPITATION FOR PARTS OF OKLAHOMA AND WESTERN NORTH TEXAS THROUGH AT LEAST LATE NEXT WEEK. SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS WILL BE LIKELY WITH SOME OF THESE STORM SYSTEMS… INCLUDING SLICK AND HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

WINTER PRECIPITATION WILL BE POSSIBLE MONDAY INTO TUESDAY… MAINLY IN THE FORM OF SNOW ALTHOUGH SOME SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE… AS ANOTHER STORM SYSTEM APPROACHES AND MOVES ACROSS THE AREA. CURRENTLY THE MOST LIKELY AREA FOR THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS WILL BE ACROSS PARTS OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL OKLAHOMA. HOWEVER… RAIN AND SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE FURTHER SOUTH INTO SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA AND WESTERN NORTH TEXAS. PRELIMINARY INDICATIONS ARE THAT SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE TO THREE INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE AREA OF HEAVIEST ACCUMULATIONS. HOWEVER… HOW MUCH AND THE EXACT LOCATION OF THE HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION IS STILL UNCERTAIN. THE SNOW COULD CAUSE SLICK AND POSSIBLY HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS FOR PARTS OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL OKLAHOMA.

WINTER WEATHER CHANCES WILL THEN RETURN WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY AS A SERIES OF STORM SYSTEMS AFFECT THE SOUTHERN PLAINS. THE TIMING AND LOCATION OF HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION… WHETHER IT BE SNOW… SLEET… FREEZING RAIN… OR A MIXTURE OF THESE… IS STILL VERY UNCERTAIN. THE FORECAST DURING THIS PERIOD WILL CERTAINLY CHANGE THROUGH THE WEEK… SO CHECK BACK FREQUENTLY FOR UPDATES IF YOU HAVE OUTDOOR OR TRAVEL PLANS LATE THIS WEEK.

THERE ARE STILL UNCERTAINTIES IN THE FORECASTS FOR THE DIFFERENT SYSTEMS… ESPECIALLY FOR THE STORM SYSTEMS SET TO IMPACT OKLAHOMA MONDAY INTO TUESDAY… AND THEN AGAIN LATE NEXT WEEK.
