Multiple Road Closings/Evacuations Due to Explosion at OneOK Plant in Grant County Near Medford

Grant County Sherriffs’s Office-Oklahoma issued this evacuation order at approximately 2:37 pm today due to the explosion: The evacuation zone for Medford is Highway 11 south. If you live south of Highway 11 you need to leave your location. No timetable for returning is available at this time.
At 2:28 pm Saturday, Northwest Regional Communications was notified by Woods County that there was an explosion at the OneOK plant located at 25923 US-81 in Grant County.
Trooper Justin Barney #332, Trooper Randy McCullough #672, Trooper Trey Mathews #779 and Trooper Jeff Steelman #949 were all advised and starting to the location to assist with traffic control at the request of Woods County.
At approximately 2:45pm Trooper Justin Barney #332 and Trooper Trey Mathews #779 advised that they were closing US-81 at the intersection of Greer which is located approximately 5 north of Pond Creek, OK in Grant County.
At approximately 2:50 pm Trooper Randy McCullough #672 advised that he was closing US-81 and the intersection of Haskell which is located 1 mile south of OK-11 in Medford, OK.
Trooper Steelman #949 advised that he would be out assisting the Incident Command located at the Medford Co-op.
At approximately 2:55 pm Trooper Barney #332 and Trooper Mathews #779 advised that they were going to go further south and close the roadway at US-60/US-81 in Pond Creek, OK.
Roadways are still closed at this time and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation is assisting with the placement of barricades.
