Edmond Public Schools (KOKH)
Two weeks into the school year, and there are already thousands of Edmond Public School students and staff under quarantine.

At some locations, more than a quarter of the population is at home.

According to the chart on the district’s website, 2,214 students and staff are in an active quarantine. That’s 7.85% of the district.

As of Tuesday, there are 298 active COVID-19 cases in the district. That’s 1.06% of the district.

Some of the schools hit the hardest are Will Rogers, Cheyenne and Summit. Which have a quarantine rate ranging from 24% to 28%.

The district says it will be in compliance with Senate Bill 658. Elevated COVID numbers for students and staff at a single site will be investigated on a case-by-case basis. The district’s safety coordinator will confer with regional health officials to determine contact tracing and quarantine protocols.
