MJ&H Fabrication Pioneer Tech’s Partner for Progress

Ponca City Now - April 27, 2018 12:23 pm

Pioneer Technology Center’s Partner for Progress Award this year went to MJ&H Fabrication in Ponca City.

This business is the leading fabricator of vessels, process piping, skid and modular packages and structural steel for a broad range of industries. They pride themselves on unsurpassed quality, dependability, and exceptional customer relationships.

In 2007 MJ&H had five employees in a 5,000 square foot space located in Blackwell.  Today they employee 80 individuals, and now have a 70,000 square foot shop in Ponca City.

Through the years, the company has employed many Pioneer Tech students and in May of 2017, the business hosted a Weld for Work program. This initiative was a contest and top winners received jobs at MJ&H upon their graduation from Pioneer Tech.

In 2010 the tech center and MJ&H began their relationship, while it was still Blackwell based.   This was through the Manufacturing Extension program.  At that time they were working on a Quality Jobs application and needed assistance.

Through the years Gary Harvey, the owner, has been vigilant about shopping for Pioneer Tech students and being involved in the Welding program.  He makes many visits throughout the year to the classroom not only to meet with the students but to judge contests and to mentor as well. In addition the Pioneer Tech Safety team has assisted with hearing tests for MJ&H.

“The value that MJ&H puts into career training and education for Pioneer Tech is a great benefit to us,” Molly Kyler, Pioneer Tech Executive Director of Business and Industry Services, said. “And it turns into an advantage for them as well as they train students and build a workforce for their industry.”

Gary Harvey, Owner of MJ&H Fabrication, was presented the Partner for Progress award in April during a ceremony at the Jim Thorpe Sports Hall of Fame.
