Minco schools closed because of flu

MINCO, Okla. (AP) – Grady County authorities say classes at Minco Public Schools have been canceled due to widespread illness due to influenza.

The Oklahoman reports that classes are canceled on Monday and Tuesday. Grady County Emergency Management officials say the superintendent of Minco Public Schools, Kevin Sims, says there are reports of flu among a large number of students.

Common symptoms of flu are fever and chills, a cough, sore throat and runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches and fatigue. Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.

People with symptoms should see a doctor as soon as possible and stay home from work or school to prevent others from being exposed to the virus.
