MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (AP) – Police in Midwest City are looking for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man as he drove his car.

Police Chief Brandon Clabes said Tuesday that the victim, Robert Pennington, was killed Monday night. The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s office received a call about 8:50 p.m. that shots had been fired. A few moments later, Oklahoma City Police Department got a call of a possible accident in the same area.

Police found Pennington dead in the driver’s seat of the vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. Another person in the front passenger seat of Pennington’s car was uninjured.

Clabes says a gray, newer model vehicle drove up to Pennington’s car while they were both travelling westbound when Pennington suffered the fatal injuries. He says the investigation is ongoing.
