March the Halls to promote school spirit and extracurricular activities

In an effort to promote school spirit and provide all students a glimpse of extracurricular activities offered by the district, Ponca City Public Schools recently held a “March the Halls” Day.

Po-Hi senior football players, band drum line, Hi-Steppers, and senior cheerleaders all loaded on busses and visited every school in the district. Po-Hi principal Thad Dilbeck, along with Band Director David Christy and Superintendent Shelley Arrott, also rode the bus with students.

Students lined the hallways in each school as the participating Wildcats marched and led students in cheers and the fight song.  Many students prekindergarten and older have never attended an extracurricular event at the high school.

This activity was meant to excite students and hopefully spark the interest of younger students.  According to reports, students loved the event, and it was also well received by teachers and administrators.
