Man Killed After Attempted Home Invasion in Ponca City; Multiple Shots Fired

On Sunday evening, shortly after 7:00 pm, Ponca City Police Officers responded to the report of a home invasion with gun shots  at 2200 W. Central.  As officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with witnesses who told them a subject had been shot after trying to force his way into the residence and firing shots at the residents who lived there.

Officers located the subject, 29 year old Jacob S. Grudowski, near the residence and found he had been shot multiple times.  Ponca City Police Officers and Ponca City Fire Department personnel attempted life-saving measures but Grudowski was pronounced dead at the scene.  Grudowski had reportedly been involved in an ongoing domestic situation with one of the residents at the home.  As a result, Grudowski arrived at the home and fired multiple gunshots after attempting to force his way into the residence.  As Grudowski exchanged gunfire with the one of the residents, he sustained gunshot wounds which were fatal.
