A Ponca City man was injured in a single-car accident on Riverview Road west of U.S. 177, south of Ponca City at 12:27 p.m. Saturday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

A 1999 Chevrolet Venture, driven by Anthony Maurice Steeprock, 32, was eastbound and left the roadway to the right, the OHP report said. Steeprock re-entered the roadway, overcorrected, and left the roadway to the left. He hit a concrete culvert, according to the report.

Steeprock was taken by private vehicle to Ponca City Medical Center. He was admitted in stable condition with trunk internal injuries, the report stated.

The investigating trooper said the cause of the collision was failure to maintain lane and alcohol impairment.
