Man drowns when boat overturns on Oklahoma City lake

(AP) — Authorities say a man drowned after the small boat he was on overturned in high winds on Lake Overholser on the city’s west side.

Battalion Chief Benny Fulkerson says firefighters were called shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday and found a police officer trying to help the man, who was face down in the water near the dam. Fulkerson said the police officer was helped out of the water and the fire department’s dive team recovered the man’s body.

The man’s name has not been released.
