ANADARKO, Okla. (AP) – Oklahoma troopers say a teenage driver who failed to stop at a stop sign plowed into another vehicle, killing a man and a 3-year-old and critically injuring a 5-year-old.

The Oklahoma Highway patrol says the accident occurred Wednesday night at the intersection of U.S. 62 and State Highway 9 near Anadarko. Witnesses say the teenager’s vehicle hit the side of a van, causing both to flip.

Sixty-four-year-old Roger Balentine and the 3-year-old girl died at the scene. A 5-year-old boy was flown to the OU Medical Center with head and internal injuries.

Troopers say people in both vehicles were properly belted in. The names of the children haven’t been released.

The 18-year-old woman who troopers say caused the accident wasn’t injured.

No arrests have been reported.
