Superintendent Shelley Arrott with Madison Birnbaum and Po-Hi Principal Thad Dilbeck.

Po-Hi senior Madison Birnbaum is the 9th Wildcat of the Week.

“Madison is a senior at Po-Hi who will be graduating in May and, without doubt, her presence will be missed at the high school,” said School Superintendent Shelley Arrott.  “She is an excellent student, a great athlete, and most importantly, a wonderful young lady of integrity.  Madison has played on the Lady Wildcat Basketball Team all four years at Po-Hi.  Her innate leadership skills have been an integral component in uniting her teammates to play selflessly and with heart.  She exhibits outstanding sportsmanship skills, both on and off the court, and she is respected by her peers, fans, PCPS staff, parents, and coaches.  I have enjoyed watching Madison in action during Lady Wildcat Basketball events, and on behalf of the District, I can say she represents PCPS with true pride.  Madison has signed to play basketball at Newman University next year, and I know she will be a great asset to the team and the university.  She was named as a Vype Top 100 Player this year and won the ‘Wildcat Award’ at her basketball banquet.  She is so deserving of any accolade she receives, and she lives the characteristics of the Wildcat Way at all levels.”

Po-Hi Principal Thad Dilbeck and Superintendent Arrott presented Madison with a “Wildcat of the Week” T-shirt, Wildcat window decal, and a gift certificate from Ground Round.

The “Wildcat of the Week” Award is sponsored this year by Heather Cannon Honda. The award is for a deserving high school student who follows the characteristics of the Wildcat Way which are Work Ethic, Improve, Leadership, Discipline, Compete, Attitude, and Teamwork. These characteristics may be exhibited in any setting and is open to all Ponca City High School students.

Several Ponca City patrons were involved in making the “Wildcat of the Week” a reality. These partners include: Tina Christian, Senator Bill Coleman – TEAM Radio, Heather Cannon – Heather Cannon Honda, Ground Round, and Tyndall Dentistry.

Each week a new “Wildcat of the Week” will be selected from the nominations of TEAM Radio listeners and viewers. Winners will receive a free meal from Ground Round and a T-shirt from Boss Custom Tees. PCPS will make the presentation weekly at Po-Hi.  If you know an outstanding student at Po-Hi who is living the Wildcat Way, please use the form in one of these links https://www.poncacitynow.com//32875-2/, or visit www.PoncaCityNow.comwww.PoHiSports.com, or www.pcps.us.
