Mad Science on Fox 25
For the last several years the Ponca City Public School system has partnered with an organization from Oklahoma City called Mad Science to provide STEM opportunities for our elementary students. These opportunities have included school-wide assemblies, evening student/parent assemblies for the whole family to enjoy, and opportunities for students to participate in hands-on science projects throughout the school day.
Mad Science was founded in 1985 in Montreal, Canada, by two brothers, Ariel and Ron Shlien. Their hobby of conducting spectacular science experiments, to the amazement of the children in their neighborhood, grew from a passion into a desire to reach as many students as possible regarding science phenomenon. Mad Science is now a global enrichment company that brings the love of science in a unique, hands-on way to millions of children every year!
The PCPS are very excited to announce that Mad Science will be providing science experiences for students on air starting April 20, 2020. These television spots are entitled “Mad Science Mondays” and will begin at 9:45 a.m.
We encourage all our families to tune-in to Mad Science Mondays beginning Monday, April 20th to help keep their children entertained and engaged. Our hope is that this will give all families the opportunity to engage in some science education, and if it is well received, FOX 25 Television may even expand the viewing time. So, tune in this coming Monday to experience STEM and spark some science learning in your household.
All videos will be available on the website at OKCFOX.COM for those that have access.
